Explain something to me about Rebecca Black's video "Friday" ...can you?

It's gotten all these wretched reviews (and yeah I agree, the song is stupid---I actually saw one of the parodies before I saw the actual video to find out what was being spoofed), however the video went viral pretty early on and got so many hits, I am curious. WHY do people keep watching it over and over again if it's so awful?
